Pierre Dasen’s field of expertise is cross-cultural developmental psychology, particularly culture and cognition and the interface between anthropology and psychology. Before his PhD at the Australian National University and post-doc at the Université de Montréal, he studied developmental psychology under Jean Piaget at the University of Geneva. He has carried out research in Australia, Canada, Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya and Papua New Guinea, and more recently in Indonesia, India and Nepal. He is the founder of the Association pour la Recherche Interculturelle (ARIC), a francophone association for multi-disciplinary cross-cultural research, and the co-author (with Berry, Poortinga, and Segall) of two widely circulated textbooks on cross-cultural psychology.
